REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Esemka has not yet passed emission test according to the Ministry of Transportation letter sent to its manufacture, PT Solo Manufaktur Kreasi. It is said that the car -dubbed as Indonesian national car- exceeds the allowable limit of emission provision.
“We have received the result of emission test from Propulsion and Motor Thermodynamics Center (BTMP),” the Head of Public Communication Center in the Ministry of Transportation, Bambang S Ervan, said. He said, the letter was sent on Wednesday.
Yet, Esemka could repeat the emission test, Ervan said. The limit in emission provision is based on the State Ministry of Environment Regulation Number 04 of 2009 on the allowable limit of new vehicle gas emission. The CO emission of Esemka is recorded 11.63 g/km and HC+NOX 2.69 g/km while the allowable limit of CO emission is 5 g/km and HC+NOX is 0.70 g/km.
