REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKANBARU – House of Representative urges Pertamina to decrease reliance on imported fuel. The House also asked Pertamina to prepare the establishment of crude refinery, the vice chairman of Commission VI of the House of Representatives, Aria Bima, said on Thursday.
“Restrict the import of diesel fuel and petrol. As the substitution, we ask Pertamina to import crude oil and process it in Indonesian refinery,” he said.
“We expect, the refinery will create job opportunities,” he said. Bima explained that the idea was emerged in hearing session among Commission VI of House of Representatives, Deputy Minister of State-owned Enterprise in Strategic Industry and Manufacture Dwijanti Tjahjaningsih, and Director of Pertamina Karen Agustiawan.
“Pertamina should import crude oil instead of the fuel for national energy stability. The crude oil is processed in Indonesia to give additional value for national economy,” he said.
