Indonesia to develop wind energy power plant

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian government will develop wind energy power plant. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the press release signed Memorandum of Understanding with UPC Asia Wind Limites to build the wind energy power plant in Samas Beach, Bantul, Yogyakarta.

"The cooperation is in feasibility study sector," the Director General of Renewable Energy and Conservation, Kardaya Warnika, said.

The project will soon be conducted with two other companies, UPC Renewable Indonesia Limited and Binatek Reka Energy, after the field study. There will be 33 trubit built with 50 mega watt total capacity.

The investment is more than 150 million USD. The electricity will be sold to state electricity company as a part of energy diversification with 30 years contract.
