REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - BP Migas claims that Indonesian reserve of oil and gas still has a potency of oil and gas from 50 undeveloped structures. There were 227 million barrels of oil and 5.5 trillion feet cubic gas, the Deputy of BP Migas, Hardiono, said. The resources are spread in 24 working exploration and exploitation in Indonesia.

"We hope the development of the structure will run according to plan so that it can contribute to national production," he said on Friday.

The reserve can hopefully increase the national production of gas and oil in the next five years. BP migas is an independent state agency responsible for managing business on oil and gas.

"We also increase the production with enhanced oil recovery (EOR). We use chemical ingredients, surfactan and polymer, in oil field," he explained.

There are at least three EOR projects in 2012, which are in Minas field operated by Chevron Pacific Indonesia, Tanjung operated by Pertamina EP, and Kaji operated by Medco E&P Indonesia.
