REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKANBARU – Indonesian Board of Ulema (MUI) Pekanbaru, Riau, concerns over some companies which ban their workers to perform Friday prayer only. Hence, MUI also asks those companies to repeal their policy on this matter.

“We concern over the prohibition. Those companies should discuss the matter further,” the Chairman of MUI Pekanbaru, Ilyas Husti, said on Tuesday.

The case was reported to MUI by some organizations in Pekanbaru. Husti said, denying Muslims from Friday prayer violates people’s human rights.
