REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – A presidential spokesman, Julian Aldrin Pasha, said the Constitutional Court (MK) verdict on vice ministers was a part of Indonesian political dynamic. “It is merely our political dynamic. It is not about win and lose, but how to create the better presidential system,” Pasha said on Wednesday.
He added that the verdict emphasized that presidential authority could be carried out without being hampered by flawed regulation. “It is actually restoring presidential authority on the appointment of minister and the vice minister,” he said.
One day before MK’s verdict, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is still studying the decision. Until the new Presidential Decree is issued, the vice ministers are still in office. In the future, the position of vice minister is not limited by official with career background. They can be from any groups. “As the consequence of the verdict, vice minister can be from other groups, such as professional, partisan, or non partisan,” he said.
