REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Wednesday appointed new minister of health and vice minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. Dr Nafsiah Mboi (peadiatrician) MPH to sit as Minister of Health, replacing the late Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih and Rudi Rubiandini RS as a new Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources to replace the late Widjajono Partowidagdo.
Nafsiah Mboi has got education in Indonesia, Europe, and United States. She once worked at the WHO as director in Gender and Women's Health Department.
She was also awarded Ramon Magsaysay Foundation Award for Government Service, Manila, the Philippines(1986) and a number of honorary orders from both Indonesia and abroad. Nafsiah has special interest in children's right, gender, and AIDS.
While Rubiandini -born in Tasikmalaya on February 9, 1962- studied in Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and obtained the doctoral degree from Technische Universitaet Clausthal, German. Rubiandini has some achievements, such as inventing seven equipments in the research of oil and gas, inventing rising cement, producing 30 software on oil technic, and leading the team to stop mudflow in the well of Petrokimia Gresik in only four days.
Hendarman Supandji as the Head of National Land Agency, Muhammad Chatib Basri as the Head of Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board, and Nafsih Mboi as the new Minister of Health will be inaugurated on Thursday.
