REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, QUITO - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) concluded his working visit to Latin American countries and left Ecuadorian capital Quito for Jakarta on Sunday. SBY and his entourage left Ecuador after following a military tribute ceremony at Quito military airbase to end his more than one-week trip to Mexico, Brazil, and Ecuador.
In Mexico, the Indonesian head of state attended G-20 Summit in Los Cabos, besides delivering his keynote address at business (B-20 Summit), and stated Indonesia`s commitment of financial inclusion at the Los Cabos Financial Inclusion Event. Presidential special staff for international relations Teuku Faizasyah said Indonesia at the G-20 Summit encouraged global economic recovery through a number of proposals. Faizasyah added that Indonesia also proposed that the interest of developing countries remain part of G-20 main agenda, especially dealing with development, infrastructure, and financial inclusion.
Besides attending G-20 Summit, SBY also attended sustainable development summit of Rio+20 in Rio de Jenairo, Brazil, from June 20-22. From Brazil, SBY made his way to Ecuador for a state visit. His visit to Ecuador was the first since the two countries established diplomatic relations on April 29, 1980.
