REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - United Development Party (PPP) will declare its presidential candidate early 2013. The party now focuses ongeneral elections.
"Without the result of general elections, every political party cannot determine their candidates," the Vice Chairman of the Central Board of PPP, Lukman Hakim Saefuddin, said on Monday.
PPP will wait for the result of the election before considering its presidential candidate. He said the result would show the strongest candidate.
Yet, he cannot deny that Jusuf Kalla was the strong presidential candidate from PPP. Other figures for the candidates are Aburizal Bakrie, Hatta Radjasa, and Anis Baswedan. "Regional branches of PPP propose JK because he is the strong figure," he said.
