REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Commission I in the House of Representatives will visit Myanmar and Bangladesh to talk on Muslim Rohingyas. The visit is expected to build a communication between government and Myanmar parliament. House also hopes that they can meet Myanmar Muslim figure to discuss the crisis.

"I will lead eight representatives from Commission I in September," a member of Commission I, Mahfudz Siddiq, said on Thursday.

Indonesia as the biggest Muslim country, he added, had some interests to help Rohingya. Mahfudz also said that Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) would hold emergency session to talk on Rohingya in August 4-5. 

OIC is expected to decide on three points, one of them is OIC’s firm towards Myanmar and Bangladesh to resolve Rohingya problem. The second is about OIC’s response towards refugees who seek political asylum. "There are at least 300 political asylum seekers in Indonesia," Mahfudz said.

The third, OIC should focus on Muslim Rohingya in Myanmar and Bangladesh border. "The violence towards Rohingya is a form of human rights violation," he said. Myanmar, he continued, did not deserve to be the leader of ASEAN countries.
