REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOJONEGORO - Special tourist buses were being operated to ferry returning Eid al Fitr holiday travelers from Bojonegoro in East Java, to Jakarta, Bogor and Bandung, an official said on Wednesday. Wawan Istiawan, the spokesman for an inter-city and inter-province bus operator at the Rajekwesi bus terminal said that this special bus service had been started to transport returning holiday travelers, who had been unable to get tickets for train travel or for the regular bus service from Bojonegoro to various big city destinations across the country.
Meanwhile Edy Subroto, the spokesperson for the Rajekwesi bus terminal said, the bus depot had been packed since Tuesday with holiday travelers who were returning to their work places and schools after celebrating the Eid al Fitr festivity with family and friends in their hometowns. He also pointed out that regular buses travelling to Surabaya, Malang, Jakarta, Bogor and Bandung from Bojonegoro were already available for the returning Lebaran tourists. But the bus station's management has also made arrangements for an additional 32 tourist buses that will move the returning holiday makers to Bandung, Bogor, and Jakarta to help avoid any accumulation of passenger traffic at the bus stations.
