REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The terror suspect, M Toriq, turned himself to police simply because he missed his family, spokesperson of Jakarta police, Rikhwanto, told Republika on Sunday.  The suspect was reported wearing a wig while he turned in the police post in Jembatan Lima, Jakarta, on Sunday at 5.30 pm.

“Toriq surrender to the police because he misses his family,” Rikhwanto said.

While turn up, Toriq was wearing a wig and in well condition. He also handed over a gun with the bullets as hard evidence to the police.  

Toriq made the headlines when police found a handmade bomb at his mother’s residence in Tambora, West Jakarta, on September 5. Police then found some bomb-making manual and some chemical substances including sulphur, nails, black powder, and five pieces of pipes full of nails inside. The police then took Toriq’s mother, Iyot (60 years) and Toriq’s wife into custody.

“Toriq’s family is still under our protection,” Rikhwanto said.
