Quick Count: Jokowi-Ahok win Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

Joko Widodo (center) or Jokowi, meet his supporters in Jakarta on Thursday. According to quick count, Jokowi with his running mate, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, slightly win from their rivals, Fauzi Bowo and Nachrowi Ramli.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Joko Widodo or known as Jokowi and his running mate Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok win Jakarta Gubernatorial Election according to quick count in several polling organizations. Currently, Jokowi is still a mayor of Solo, Central Java. 

According to Indo Barometer, Jokowi-Ahok grab 54.24 percent of the votes, while incumbent Fauzi Bowo or Foke and Nachrowi Ramli (Nara) garner 45.76 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) says Jokowi-Ahok win 53 percent of votes with Foke-Nara trail on 46.25 percent. Jokowi said that he was thankful for the result. Relieved that the second round ran peacefully, he expressed his thanks to Foke for his performance on leading Jakarta for five years.

Jokowi promised to discuss the problems of Jakarta with Foke. According to Jokowi, Fake had called him and both set up an agreement to meet soon.
