REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOLO - The police`s anti terrorist squad known as Densus 88 arrested eight men, believed to be terrorist suspects, in Solo, on Saturday morning. One of the man known as Badri (40 year), was arrested after early morning prayer at the Alhuda Mosque in the village, a villager said.

"He was taken right away in a car," the villager, who refused to be identified, said.

Police, who blocked the road leading to that area in a radius of 500 meters, gave no information about the arrest of the man and reason for his arrest. A shopping mall, Solo Square, not far from the location had to be closed as no people including the shopping mall workers were allowed to pass.

The chief of Indonesian National Police, Timur Pradopo, said that the men were part of old network of terror suspects. Hence, he assured that the police would proceed its investigation.  “I think there is a connection among Depok, Solo, and Tambora (West Jakarta) cases,” Pradopo said on Saturday.

Solo has been on the spotlight over the past month after three terrorist incidents in the central Java city in which a police officer and two suspected terrorist were killed in a shootout.
