Special Detachment arrests 11 alleged terrorists

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Special Detachment or Detachment 88 of Indonesian National Police arrested 11 alleged terrorists on Saturday. They also found several assembly bombs on the locations.

"We found some bombs, either being ready to use and still being prepared," the Head of Public Relations in National Police, Suhardi Alius, said on Saturday.

The 11 terrorists were arrested in four places, which are Madiun in East Java, Solo in Central Java, Bogor in West Java, and Palmerah-Kebon Kacang in Jakarta. Police found some bomb materials with manual book of making bomb in the first two places. While in other places, police found ammunition and detonator. 

Alius said that they were a new group of terrorists called Hasmi, Harakat Sunni for Indonesian People. The group has four targets, Consulate General of the US in Surabaya, the US Embassy in Jakarta, Plaza 89 near Australian Embassy in Jakarta, and Headquarter of Brimob in Central Java.
