REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said his visit to UK generated five important points. He underlined some agreements resulted from the visit.
"This is a full support for the improvement of bilateral relationship between Indonesia-UK," SBY said on Saturday.
His visit contained strategic values because this was the first time in 33 years Queen Elizabeth II invited Indonesian President. Secondly, both sides gain benefit on economic side while the sliding Indonesian export amid the crisis in Europe can threat Indonesian economic growth.
"We have to find important component to maintain our growth, which is investment," he said.
Education is also discussed on the state visit. Capacity building is important to face global future competition.
Meanwhile, the fourth important point is transfer of technology and development of defense industry. Indonesian and UK agree to develop military industry.
The last important point, he said, was the cooperation on environment and climate change. The Prince of Wales talked to SBY on UK contribution in the implementation of REDD+ (Reduction on Emission and Deforestation Degradation).
"The discussion was detail and real. UK is willing to be a part of the cooperation between Indonesia-Norway in REDD+," SBY said. In addition, they also discussed on the development of low cost green car.
