REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfedlt has stated that his country`s businessmen are keen to invest in Indonesia`s transportation sector. "The reason for their interest is the expected increase in the number of middle class business people in Indonesia in the coming years," he said at a press conference, accompanied by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, here on Wednesday.

"With regard to the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Economic Development (MP3EI), we expect to forge partnerships in the transportation sector, particularly in the field of infrastructure development," Reinfedlt stated.

"The rising number of middle class business people will also help boost trade cooperation," he continued.

"The greater the number of middle class business people, the more there will be opportunities for increased trade ties," Reinfedlt added.

On the occasion, President Yudhoyono pointed out that there was plenty of scope for investment and cooperation in Indonesia, with the country`s annual economic growth rate of 6 percent. "After exploring several areas of cooperation, we have invited Sweden to take part in the development of Indonesia," he said.
