JAKARTA - Government decides to add the quota of subsidized fuel for 1.2 million kilo litters. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources will submit the proposal of the additional quota to House of Representatives in the mid of December.

Consumption of subsidized fuel is predicted to surpass the quota of 44.04 million kilo litres by the end of 2012. The quota has been added on September by 4.04 million kilo litres.

Wacik is optimistic that the House will agree on the proposal. Government has budgeted 6 trillion IDR for the additional quota that will be imported.

Indonesia's downstream oil and gas regulator BPH Migas asked Minister Wacik to speed up the revision of Ministerial Regulation on restriction of the usage of subsidized fuel for certained industrial sector vehicles. The restriction will be also applied to forestry sector and cargo ship, hoping to decrease the usage of subsidized fuel.

"I asked Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Rudi Rubiandini to comvince the minister to sign the revision," Director of Oil Fuel at BPH Migas, Djoko Siswanto, said on Wednesday.

The Minister has issued Ministerial Regulation of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 12/2012 on the regulation to control the usage of fuel. This regulation restricts the vehicles of plantation and mining to use subsidized fuel. The revised regulation is scheduled to issue on December 1.
