Govt allocates 400 billion IDR for disaster relief funds

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BEKASI - Ministry of Social Affairs allocates 400 billion IDR for disaster relief funds in 2013, mostly are goods. Every region can use  

"Almost 80 percent of the funds are goods need for humanitarian relief including as tents, rescue vehicles, emergency kitchen, kitchen utensils and food buffer supplies for 33 provinces," Minister of Social Affairs, Salim Segaf al Jufri, said on Saturday.

The minister said the government will provide food buffer supplies during disaster. Provincial government also can use deconcentrated  fund worth 640 billion IDR as additional fund.

Meanwhile, Speaker of House of Representatives, Marzuki Alie, expects the parliament to have disaster relief funds. Currently, the members of the House also collect their personal money worth 140 millions IDR to help the flood victims.
