REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Jakarta Police Department will investigate UOB Plaza building in Jakarta after the basement level inundated with water after last week flooding. Two people found dead inside the basement of the building.

"We will evaluate whether its is a crime or human error," the Chief of Jakarta Police Department, Putut Eko Bayuseno, said on Monday.

However, police still prioritize the evacuation for the victims of floods. He urges people to report any missing person to the police.

The 4-story basements of UOB Plaza were inundated with water due to the broken embankment at West Flood Canal on Latuharhary street. Evacuation team rescued two people inside the building, while the other two were found dead.
