REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Flood victims in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, need water to clean their houses after floods. A victim, Faisal Syam, said that other needs, such as blankets and mineral water, were sufficiently available.

"But, we really need clean water," he said on Thursday.

He explained that drinking water company Palyja had distributed clean water two days after the flood, but it was insufficient. Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has also distributed several tanks of clean water to several areas. Such as in Muara Baru, North Jakarta, PMI distributed 5,000 liters of clean water. They also provided water purifier in Sunda Kelapa Port, North Jakarta.

Meanwhile, flood victims in Pengadegan, Pancoran, South Jakarta, complained about uneven distribution of aid. Several areas in Pengadegan, South Jakarta, are still inundated as about 300 inhabitants are forced to live in the shelter.

"We did not get blankets although our names are among the list," a victim, Sri Sulastri, said in evacuation shelter. She expected the aid to be distributed directly to the victims.

Official in Pengadengan, Syarifulloh, admitted that the distribution was uneven as the number of refugees was mounting. "We are lacking of coordination," he admitted.
