REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - National Narcotics Agency (BNN) arrests 17 people including three celebrities and a politician in a raid at the house of a TV host, Raffi Ahmad, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, on Sunday.
"We have arrested some celebrities," Deputy of Drugs Eradication, Benny Mamoto, said during press conference on Sunday.
Wanda Hamidah, a celebrity turned to be politician in National Mandate Party (PAN), is among those who were arrested. Other celebrities are Irwansyah and his wife, Zaskia Sungkar.
"They are using cannabis and amphetamine," he said, adding that he would announce those who positively using drugs later. Official from BNN said that Raffi had been a target for a year as he often held parties.
Meanwhile, a member of Jakarta Parliament, Dwi Rio Sambodo, felt regret that Wanda, who was also people's representative, got caught using drugs. "Whoever the celebrities are, we are worried because they are public figure. What they do affects public image," he said.
