REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - About 5,000 cadres of National Democratic Party (Nasdem) from Cimahi, West Bandung and Bogor in West Java left the party on Wednesday due to changes in party structure.

"More than 5,000 left the part," the member of Nasdem's Board of Experts, Romli Atmasasmita, said on Wednesday in Grand Royal Panghegar Hotel. "This party was born from Nasdem mass organization, but it does not mean that organization can own the party. However, today the party is taken over by the irresponsible leader of mass organization," he added.

At the same time, more than 100 cadres staged a protest. They ripped their clothes in Tangkuban Parahu Hall, Grand Royal Panghegar Hotel.

"We feel betrayed. We have build this party from the beginning but now the party eliminates many of us," Atmasasmita said.

Earlier, Chairman of the Board of Experts at Nasdem Party, Harry Tanoesudibjo, and Secretary General, Ahmad Rofiq, left the party for same reason.
