REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday named four suspects, including the Chairman of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq, in graft case involving imported meat.
"We found two strong evidence," Spokesman of KPK, Johan Budi, said on Wednesday.
Ishaaq was arrested in Headquarter of DPP PKS last night when he held press conference, while other three suspects were caught in bribery act at Le Meridien Hotel, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Budi said Juard Effendy (JE) and Arya Abdi Effendy (AAE) from PT Indoguna Utama, imported meat company, gave the money to Ahmad Fathanah (AF), Ishaq close ally, in Indoguna office on Tuesday afternoon. AF then went to Le Meridian Hotel to met a woman named Maharani (M). KPK arrested both AF and M when they checked out from the hotel on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, JE and AAE were arrested in AAE's house in Cakung, East Jakarta, at the same time.
KPK confiscated a billion IDR in AF's car as evidence. Another evidence is document of imported meat.
M was released on Thursday early morning, while Ishaaq, JE, AAE and AF were named as suspects. JE and AAE are suspected of violating Article 5 or Article 13 Laws No. 31/1999 on gratification, while AF and Ishaaq are suspected of violating Article 12 and/or Article 5, Section 2 and/or Article 11 of the Anti-Corruption Law.
During press conference before the arrest, Ishaaq claimed that he was not involved in the graft case. "Even if the graft case occurs, it is not me and my party," he said, adding that PKS supported the eradication of corruption.
The Head of PKS Faction in parliament, Hidayat Nur Wahid, said PKS supported KPK to investigate corruption case, but he urged KPK to explain to public. The Head of Cadrenization of DPP PKS, Musyafa Ahmad Rahim, denied that AF was one of PKS cadres. "I do not know him. We do not have his ID," he said on Thursday.
