REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Consulative Council of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) appoints Vice Speaker of House of Representatives Anis Matta as chairman of the party to replace Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq. Ishaaq resigned from his post after Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named him as a suspect in bribery case involving imported meat.
"We appoint Anis Matta as a new chairman of PKS," the Head of PKS' Consultative Council, Hilmi Aminudin, said on Friday.
Priot to the new appointment, Anis was the secretary general of the party. His position is now replaced by the former Head of PKS Cental Board, M Taufik Ridho. "Thanks to Consultative Council for their quick respond towards our former chairman," Matta said.
