Former Armed Forces Commander passes away

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Former Armed Forces Commander Feisal Tanjung passed away on Monday morning at Siloam Hospital, Jakarta. Tandjung who was also former Coordinating Minister of Politics and Security, died at the age of 73 due to cancer.

"He had been sick with cancer in the last two years and three months," Tandjung family member, Nasution, said on Monday. Tanjung had been treated in Siloam Hospital for three months before he passed away.   

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the first lady Ani Yudhoyono paid last respects to Tanjung at his residence where he has been laid. Former Minister of Youth and Sports Akbar Tanjung also visited his residence. Feisal Tanjung is buried at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in Kalibata, South Jakarta, in a military ceremony.
