REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Danish Minister for Trade and Investment, Olsen Dyhr, offers solution of flood management in Jakarta. He met Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo, or known as Jokowi, on Monday in Jakarta.

"Copenhagen faced similar problem with Jakarta, the floods," Dyhr said on Monday after meeting Jokowi. He explained that Denmark had a solution to channel the water during floods.

Denmark prevents floods by building green open space, water tunnel and pumping system. "I see that Governor of Jakarta plans to build such things," he said. Yet, he admitted that Jakarta had some more complex problems than Denmark, including the water volume which was abundant here. 

During the meeting, Dhyr invited Jokowi to visit Copenhagen to attend a environmental conference. "I hope he can attend the event," he said.
