REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - A number of foreign investors were interested in investing on Jakarta deep tunnel project, Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo or known as Jokowi, stated on Wednesday.

"Some of them, from Germany and China, have committed to get involved (in the project)," Jokowi said at his office.

German investors have delivered their presentation about the project. They also brought their experts to Jakarta.

While praising their good presentation,  Jokowi believes that the project can attract more investors from both domestic and foreign. The deep tunnel is expected to be about 22 kilometers long between MT Haryono street and Pluit. It will have a diameter of 16 meters and 40-60 meter in depth.

The tunnel, worth 16 trillion IDR also has several functions. It can be a big water channel during flood as well as traffic tunnel.
