REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,  JAKARTA - Jakarta Provincial Government will adopt Hungarian parking system in several points in the capital city. Parking tariff in Budapest, Hungary, is expensive and it discourages people to use private cars.

Vice Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Purnama, or known as Ahok, said he had asked Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) to help government gathering information of parking system around the world. "I asked for the result of their studies in Budapest, Bogota, Urich, London and China," Ahok said on Monday.

Ahok said the parking rate would be expensive. Government will also provide vending machine in the parking lot. "The car owners must input their license number in the vending machine, then they choose the parking duration," he said.
