REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEXICO CITY - This year marks 60 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesian and Mexico. Celebrating the strong ties, Indonesian Embassy in Mexico City, collaborating with state-owned postal services company, PT Pos Indonesia, and Servicio Postal Mexicano (Sepomex) publish an Indonesia-Mexico commemorative postage stamp.
Indonesian Ambassador to Mexico, Hamdani Djafar, and Director General of Sepomex, Yuriria Mascot Perex, signed the stamp during ceremony, held in Palacio Postal, Centro Historico, Mexico City, last week. It was also attended by Deputy Speaker of Indonesian House of Representatives, Sohibul Iman, and Director of PT Pos, Wiryanta.
Yuriria Mascot Perex said the launching of postage stamp was a part of series of interesting cultural programs and events celebrating 60 years of relations.
The stamp, with the theme of Fauna heritage, will be issued in both countries. Mexico is represented with the image of Jaguar and Indonesia with Leopard that symbolize speed, hoping to speed up cooperation in every sector. Wiryanta said Indonesia would print 300,000 the stamps, while Mexico would produce 200,000 stamps.
