REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR - Britain's Cocaine Queen, Lindsay June Sandiford lodges an appeal to the Supreme Court against the death penalty for her by the Denpasar District Court. Sandiford's lawyer, Fadilah Agus said on Tuesday that the death penalty to his client in case of smuggling 4.7 kilograms of cocaine was wrong, because Article 6 Section 2A (pasal 6 ayat 2A) at Law No. 35/2009 is not exactly meted out to Sandiford. 

"No such article in our llegal system," he said. 

Agus also assessed that the death penalty was not recognized in Indonesian legal system. "We also judged the judges in that case made wrong decision because there was absolutely no mitigating considerations, despites at Article 197 Section 1F at draft of a criminal code (KUHP) implied the decision should contain the mitigating and aggravating," he said.

Agus also mentioned that his client should have got her freedom while Sandiford because she had already apologized, felt remorse and old.
