REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono concerns over disclosure of several companies suspected caused forest and land fires in Riau.

"I follow the updates every day and I think the disclosure by one of my official is inappropriate," he said on Monday night.

Yudhoyono, emphasized that such issues must be verified before public dislosure. He reponded to an earlier announcement made by Minister of Environment, Balthasar Kambuaya that 14 companies involved in forest and land fires in Riau. Eight of them were identified as foreign companies from Malaysia.

Meanwhile. Minister of Forestry Zulkifli Hasan said the Ministry currently would focus to extinguish the fires using artificial rain and rain bombs. He also hopes annual cyclon ends.

During the 12 hours of his monitoring in Riau, Hasan concludes there are five areas that most affected districts of burning forests and peat lands in Riau. The five districts are Rokan Hulu, Rokan Hilir, Dumai, Bengkalis and Siak. Dumai and Siak most severely affected.
