World Bank to assist development in Musi River delta

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG - The World Bank will assist development Musi river delta by conducting pre feasibility study in next four months. Operation Specialist of World Bank in Jakarta, Santo Dewatmoko said the pre feasibilitystudy would be conducted by Egis Research Consultant of France.

"World Bank has allocated 3 billion IDR for this activity. World Bank program helps to promote Palembang (South Sumatra) as an appreciation of the commitment of the city government by consistently encouraging the development of the city," Dewatmoko said on Wednesday.

Team leader of Egis Research Consultant, John Miller explained they had started the studies and involved eight experts. He targetted the study would finish in October 2013. World Bank also conducts similar program in Makassar (South Sulawesi), Balikpapan (East Kalimantan), Yogyakarta, Surabaya (East Java) and Denpasar (Bali).
