Kuala Namu Airport will operate on 25 July

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN - Kuala Namu International Airport at Deli Serdang, Medan, North Sumatra will operate on July 25, 2013. The airport can be access through toll road and railway.

"Train to Kuala Namu International Airport is able to carry 300 passengers each way. There will be scheduled of 15 round-trip trains per day and expected to carry 4,500 people or about 20 percent of the airport visitors per day," Director General of Civil Aviation at Ministry of Transportation, Herry Bakti said on Thursday.

Train ticket price towards Kuala Namu International Airport will be sold at 50 thousand IDR per passenger. However, the price will be increased to 80 thousand IDR per passenger for new trains ordered from Korea. 

Bhakti said if the price was considered expensive, the airport manager had prepared airport buses as the airport shuttles. Buses to the airport can be booked through several places in Medan.
