REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDARLAMPUNG - Slow procession of Lebaran holiday homecoming travelers extended as far as 3 km along Trans-Sumatra highway in Bandarlampung, Lampung Province, on Monday morning. The traffic jam was seen extending from PKOR Wayhalim area until Kalibalok intersection as the result of unfinished road repair and extension at Sukarame area of Trans-Sumatra highway, better known as "Jalinsum."

Samin, a resident of Rajabasa said on Monday that the roads to the ports of Panjang and Bakauheni, and to Rajabasa bus terminal were heavily congested by the slow procession of cars and trucks.

"The traffic congestion happens not only on Monday but has also been happening since the past two weeks from morning until the evening every day," Samin said.

According to him, the congestion was dominated by overloaded trucks and containers, exceeding the resistance of national roads to Panjang and Bakauheni ports. Therefore Samin and other local residents hope that the government to find the best possible solution to the traffic problem in Lampung.
