8,670 passengers depart from Yogyakarta train station

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SLEMAN - There were 8,670 train passengers departed from Yogyakarta station since Saturday during returning trip season after Eid al Fitr. Assistant Manager of Public Relation of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) in Yogyakarta, Luqman Arif said those passengers took executive, business or economic class.

"Passengers in executive class reach 1,956 people or increase 112 percent than the last year, while business class passengers are 1,874 people or increase 106 percent and economic class passengers rise to 4,840 people," Arif said on Sunday. 

Until second day of Eid, volume of train passenger in executive class rises 201 percent or 2,198 people, while business class passenger rises 123 percent or 1,827 people. Economic class passenger rises 4,961 people.  

Volume of cumulative number of passengers from July 29 to August 9, 2013 reaches 79,532 people. That figure increases 107 percent from 74,431 people in the last year.
