Govt allocates 17 trillion IDR for 2014 general election

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Government allocates 17 trillion IDR for the next general election which followed by 12 national parties and additional three local parties in Aceh. The government spent 13 trillion IDR in 2009 election. 

"This election will elect 560 members of House of Representatives, 132 members of Regional Representative Council (DPD), 2,137 members of provincial parliement and 20,257 members of district council," President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on Friday.

Yudhoyono hopes 2014 general election will proceed in an orderly and peaceful manner. Electoral commission is also expected to meet all universal standards as well as free and fair like the previous elections. Yudhoyono asked all participants to compete with the spirit of in sportmanship so that Indonesia would practice democratic values and prevent from political violence at the same time.
