REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Chairman of Advisory Council in National Democratic Party (Nasdem), Endriartono Sutarto is discharged from his position as cadre of Nasdem after he plans to participate in convention of presidential candidate of Democratic Party.
"He is stripped of from Chairman of Advisory Council despite unofficially yet. We do not want any distraction in Nasdem's program," Secretary General of Nasdem Party, Patrice Rio Capella said on recently.
Before 2014 presidential election, Nasdem Party requires its all cadres to be fully attentive. Sutarto participation in the convention considered will distract his duties in Nasdem Party.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Convention Committe of Democratic Party, Suady Marasabessy refuted allegation that his party wanted to "hijack" Sutarto from Nasdem Party. He said Sutarto made his own decision to participate in the convention. But earlier, Secretary General of High Council in Democratic Party, Jero Wacik, invited Sutarto to participate in the convention.
A political analyst, Ray Rangkuti criticized participant recruitment system of Democratic Party since its mechanism posed a threat to other parties.
"It's not elegant," Rangkuti said.
Rangkuti said Democratic Party should not have extended its invitation to cadres from other parties. If the party wants to recruit outsiders then the candidates must register voluntarily.
