REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG - About 250 disabled people in East, North and South Ogan Komering Ulu in South Sumatra, including Bengkulu received prosthetic legs and hands from Indonesia Crime Prevention Institute in South Sumatra in cooperation with Tuna Daksa Sadhu Vaswani Foundation.
"Measurement and distribution of prosthetic legs and hands actually aimed to help them in this areas and the program will be implemented gradually," Head of Indonesia Crime Prevention Institute in South Sumatra, Hery Gustian said recently.
Governor of South Sumatra, Alex Noerdin said that he was proud of disabled young people who have useful skills. Provincial government had committed to assist agency to improve the skills of disabled people.
Noerdin will prepare an area of five hectares for educational institutions including repair shops, language laboratories and also computer laboratories for disabled people. On that occasion, Noerdin made some appeals to donors to help the project.
