REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Abraham Samad said the Bank Century case examination was not a matter to be bold or not against a person who has a high position in government office.
The working principle of the Commission, according to Samad, was to emphasize the equality of all citizens before the law.
"The Commission shall investigate whoever they are, whether it's a President, Vice President, Secretary, or high officials. Though he was vice president, in the eyes of the Commission he is just an ordinary citizen," Samad said when speaking at National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) of Golkar Party at Hotel JS Luwansa, Jakarta, Saturday (23/11).
Samad was asked by a cadre of the Golkar Party's on KPK's ability to ill handle cases of alleged corruption involving senior government officials who were still in power.
