REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Suspicious transactions were estimated to increase ahead of 2014 General Election and it must be anticipated. Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) asked Presidential candidates to report their account numbers to run transparency principle.
"We urge all Presidential candidates to report its account numbers to run transparency principle. We assure the confidentially [of their data]," Head of PPATK, Muhammad Yusuf recently.
Names of candidates who have good faith to report its account number to PPATK will be published to public. It will be a selling point for them.
PPATK had actually asked General Election Commission (KPU) to arrange all candidates to submit their banking accounts when registered as candidates. However, KPU cannot do it due to scarcity of its human resources.
