REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ANTARA -- The chief of the anti-graft agency, Abraham Samad, said the KPK is investigating the alleged involvement of some parliament members in the SKK Migas corruption case.

The KPK on Monday summoned Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik for questioning in connection with the investigation.

"Jero Wacik's questioning is important for verifying the truth behind the alleged involvement of parliament members in the SKK Migas case," explained Samad, before attending a meeting with members of the House of Representatives' Commission III.

He verified that Jero Wacik was questioned as a witness to confirm former SKK Migas (oil and gas regulator) chief Rudi Rubiandini's statement about the alleged involvement of the parliament members.

"The results of the interrogation will be studied later to draw a conclusion," he said.

He noted that the KPK is also still studying the confessions of Rudi Rubiandini, who has been named a suspect in the case, where he had provided US$200 thousand as a "holiday allowance," locally called "THR," to the House of Representatives' Commission VII, which was overseeing the energy sector, among other things.

He pointed out that many things had to be confirmed with Jero Wacik, including the THR.

The KPK had earlier decided to ban Jero's adjutant, I Gusti Putu Ade Pranjaya, from going abroad since the case is still under investigation, believing that he may have information pertinent to the bribery case involving Rudi Rubiandini.

The agency has opened a separate investigation at the ministry of energy and mineral resources in connection with the US$200 thousand worth of cash that was found during a recent raid of the ministry's secretary general Waryono Karno's office.
