REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SAMARINDA -- Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi appointed Awang Faroek Ishak and H.M. Mukmin Fiasyal as East Kalimantan's governor and vice governor here on Tuesday.
The function's proceedings commenced with the opening of the special plenary session of the Regional Legislative Assembly (DPRD) by its Chairman Syahrun.
"The governor and vice governor shall continue to establish coordination with regional heads and stakeholders in East Kalimantan," the minister stated.
He noted that owing to successful developments in the province, the inauguration ceremony ran smoothly.
Awang Faroek and Mukmin won the East Kalimantan regional head elections for the 2013-2018 terms.
Governor Gamawan assigned the respective designations to Awang and Mukmin before they signed integrity pacts.
The function was attended by Golkar Party General Chairman Aburizal Bakrie, Golkar Chief Patron Akbar Tanjung, and all mayors and district heads of the East Kalimantan province.
