REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) will supervise the general election management in Indonesia. It is requested by political parties and Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu).
"We have been doing a monitoring," Deputy Head of PPATK, Agus Santoso said recently.
In near future, PPATK and KPU will sign a memorandum of understanding. Material cooperation agreement has been concluded between the two agencies, especially the exchange information regulation. For example, KPU will submit data of election and its participants from central level to regional.
PPATK will also cooperate with Bawaslu. Commissioner of KPU, Ferry Kurnia Rizkiyansyah said that KPU was ready if asked to give account numbers of general election participants. Commission will open up the data when PPATK willing to audit financial system of each election organizer.
Chairman of Commission II, Agun Gunanjar said that PPATK needed to be assertive in tracking transactions in account of election organizer. He hopes PPATK to process theirs findings according to legal procedures.
"PPATK is not enough if only announcing their findings to public," Gunanjar said.
