Thousand TNI personnel helps disaster victims

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KARAWANG -- Military Area Command (Kodam) III/Siliwangi deployed thousands of personnel to help the flood victims in a number of areas in West Java and Banten.

Commander of Kodam III/Siliwangi Major General Dedi Kusnadi Thamim, on Monday, stated that Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel have been deployed in the flood areas since the last few days.

"The TNI personnel were deployed to help the flood victims," stated Dedi Kusnadi Thamim while visiting refugees camps in Military District Command (Kodim) 0604/Karawang.

Dedi pointed out the military personnel helped the flood victims by monitoring posts, in the general kitchen and other areas.

According to Dedi, there were 250 personnel who were deployed in Karawang from the regional military command. Personnel from Infantry Battalion (Yonif) Linud 305/Tengkorak were also sent to the flood areas.

Meanwhile, Dedi stated that there were 4 thousand to 5 thousand personnel deployed across West Java and Banten to help the flood victims and victims of other disasters.
