An earthquake hits Central Java

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA - An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale struck Kebumen district, Central Java province, on Saturday at 12.18 Indonesian Western Time, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

The epicenter was 104 kilometers southwest of Kebumen district, West Java province, at a depth of 48 kilometers. No casualties have been reported, though the quake was felt by residents living in Yogyakarta province, West Java province, and Jakarta.
