REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Chief of Indonesian National Police, General Sutarman, rejected the notion that seven Indonesians in missing Malaysian jet linked to terrorism or had any suspicious track record.
"I want to make sure that nothing illegal with seven Indonesians in MH 370," Sutarman said on Wednesday.
Sutarman said that he had shared this information with his Malaysian counterpart. He also made commitment that Indonesia was ready to assist Malaysia in finding the missing jet. So far Indonesian police has prepared all data needed to identify Indonesians who flew in the airplane.
Earlier in last week, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono also said that Indonesia rejected any speculation by linking Indonesian passengers with terrorism. "Coordinating Minister of Legal and Security Affairs has informed me that if any suspicion of foul play occurs, it has nothing to do with our citizens," Yudhoyono said on Friday evening.
