REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG -- The Justice Prosperous Party (PKS) has provided a nursery where the party's cadres and supporters can take their children while attending a campaign rally.

Chairman of the PKS Executive Board Zuber Safawi stated here recently that the party provided a nursery because it wanted to abide by the General Elections Commission (KPU)'s Regulation No. 15/2013 on Campaign Implementation Guidelines.

The regulation bans all political parties participating in the legislative elections 2014 from involving children during pre-election campaign rallies.

"PKS is a big family and to accommodate children during campaigning, the party has provided a nursery at each campaign site so that the party's cadres do not have to leave their children at home alone," Safawi explained.

During a rally in Semarang last weekend, several cadres directed those bringing children to a nursery set up in the campaign site. The nursery was equipped with a number of games and toys for children.

Previously, Chairman of the General Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Muhammad remarked that all the political parties have involved children in the first two days of their public campaigns on Sunday and Monday.

"The results of our evaluation over the past two days showed that all political parties have committed violations by involving children in political campaigns. This is an indication of violation against the General Election Commission (KPU)'s Regulation No. 25/2013 (administrative violation against the general elections)," Muhammad stated recently.

He added that based on Bawaslu's evaluation, his agency found that there was a political party that had earlier planned to involve children in the campaign activities. "There was a political party that had planned to involve children. We will summon the political party concerned," Muhammad remarked.
