REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LAMPUNG -- The National Mandate Party (PAN) advisory board chief, Zulkifli Hasan said that his party would announce the vice presidential candidate to accompany its chairman, Hatta Rajasa after legislative election on April 9, 2014. He claimed that party's electability continued to rise.
PAN opens communication with all parties until the presidential election. This is important because the coalition requirement must be above 60 percent.
"The coalition must above 60 percent. If we only get 20 percent, we must form a large coalition," Hasan said on Wednesday.
PAN campaigns today at Lapangan Merah, Enggal, Bandar Lampung. This acitivity will be the only one open campaign in Lampung.
Hatta Rajasa previously said that the party would open a coalition with Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) on upcoming presidential election.
"Relationship between PAN and PDIP is always good. We keep communication, so the possibility of coalition is much opened," Rajasa said in Kendari.
Rajasa added that the party refused to join with inconsistent party. Related to some rumors that mentioned his name as Joko Widodo's couple from PDIP, he said that the issue was just developed in media.
"Let the issue spread in community as people will assess it. Whoever is elected as president later, we must support him," Rajasa said.
