President meets families of Indonesians threatened with death penalty

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held a meeting with families of four Indonesian migrant workers threatened with death penalty in Saudi Arabia. The meeting, aiming to comfort the families, took place in Semarang, Central Java, on Sunday attended by several ministers, including Minister of Education and Culture, M Nuh.

The four workers are Satinah (Semarang), Tuti Tursilawati (Majalengka), Siti Zaenab (Bangkalan Madura) and Karni (Brebes). President told to families that government had been asking the Saudi and victims' family to pardon the convicts. 

"I write letters to government of Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and other countries, but more often I speak in telephone and hold meetings with them," Yudhoyono said on Monday.
